This year I realized for the first time (a shame - I admit it) how beautiful maples look in spring not only in autumn. The fresh, dark red or maroon shiny leaves and the yellow/lemon colour of the blossoms create a wonderfully warm composition. Together with a blue sky on a sunny day this image is at least as beautiful as any other blooming tree. The secret is to look close - sometimes beauties can only be discovered at second sight...
