Lavender Dreams and Bumblebees...

Lavender and bumblebees - what else... Bumblebees are my favourite insects. I love that buzzing and humming - I could stand forever in a lavender field or under the cherry trees oin spring. That sound is so promising...

"Lavandula angustifolia" (Lamiaceae)
lavender, Lavendel

Hi Kim - did you know that lavender is the best perfume to protect your house against cockroaches?

Kim said...

no Petra I didn't...
I used to have a garden full of lavendar...
thanks for the tip ...

Hi Kim - lavendar is really not only perfect for your cabinets in order to protect your clothing against moths (I collect the lavender blooms in old socks which I tie up - these stay fresh (the socks as well) for several years - you just need to press them in your hand from time to time).
And if you have a problem with cockroaches in the kitchen you can use cotton pads, put some drops of lavendar oil (concentrated) on the pads and distribute them simply everywhere under the kitchensink, behind the cabinets, everywhere where you have little open spaces between the furniture and the wall.
Your kitchen will STINK with lavender for a few days but your cockroaches will puke and leave your home - they cannot stand the strong smell!!!You don't need any poison to get rid of them completely!

Greetings, Petra
