On the last day of this year...

On the last day of the year I'll show you what I promised a while ago - the cycle of the cherry trees at a certain place...

A very Happy New Year to everyone!

Merry Christmas to Everyone...

A Christmas present to you with images you would not expect at this time of the year???? First I wanted to show you some images from last year with wonderful "iceflowers" due to lack of snow photos from this year. But instead - look what I found today while taking some freah air with the bycicle! I take this as a wonderful omen for a good New Year - the full blossoms of a Daphne.
In reality of course this bush often blooms while there is still snow. But nevertheless for me it stands for hope towards those blossoms to come hopefully soon and which are a feast again each year. I can hardly wait....

Pink Bonbon...

Looks as if edible - needs only a little frosting... (actually it is edible if not sprayed - looks wonderful on a dessert or a cake or on salad or fruit soup...)

And Pink again...

This is the colour I long for most in winter time when everything is so awfully grey and dark. Now I can go into my blog and bring back all those colours again...

Near to the Blossom

Photographing this blossom from a very short distance can be a challenge - especially as the wind is unpredictable. The scent of the blossoms is sometimes so strong that you begin to feel a certain dizziness. The shadows that are created looking towards the light are full of mysteries. These blossoms just put a spell on you...

"Magnolia x" (Magnoliaceae)

Magnolia - the Queen of all...

Now this year's Magnolia blooming was not the best. The late and long frost killed most of the buds, leaving only the inner part of the blossom okay but the outer petals were brown. What a loss as the tree's blooming does not last very long anyway. But the photos of last year show how it can be:

The pink Cherry Trees are in full Blossom now

In Munich there are a couple of streets in residential areas which are looking like these - it's a feast for the eyes - simply unbelievable in their beauty. The only disadvantage is that it last only for a few days...

This very old tree I discovered in front of an old house - the most beautiful pink blossom cherry tree in Munich I think...
