It looks like cloth, cloth made from tree bark fibers as it is still common in various remote areas of our world. But this has been made by an insect, tree wasps and it is the structure of their nest. Incredible colours and incredible pattern - simply beautiful. Photographed backlit...

You have a very nice collection of fabrics.
Usually if I'm hiking I wear earth-tone colors, usually used anyway. Hunting is in situations of fire safety, or is a mixture of camouflage and other earth tones. I've heard so much that insects are attracted to dark colors and they are attracted to bright colors. I was wearing a bright blue shirt today in a park and had lots of mosquitoes and deer flies circle and attack. Not sure if the normal earth tones would have helped though what will come after me then too. Higher school forests are used flannel red / wood work as well to keep someone take a picture in which you are thinking of a deer, but turkeys have red heads ... Thanks!
