I love Gladiola for their delicacy and elegance, for their fragility. They are easily broken and rain and wind often do their part to shorten the life of this beautiful bloom. Then I feel sorry for all the wasted beauty, often destroyed before anyone could appreciate it.
"Gladiolus" (Iridaceae) glads, Gladiolen
my Mum had gladiolis as her wedding bouquet Petra..
ReplyDeletesuch beautiful flowers :)
Kim - yes. I can imagine that those looked absolutely beautiful. I don't understand why most people rather look for orchids and other blooms and find glads so ordinary. I wonder whether anyone ever looks really close??
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely blossoms! And made all the more precious by their fragile nature.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Rachel!
