Elegant Lady Gladiola...

This flower somehow always makes me think about an elegant lady. Maybe its the straight growth, the elegant setting in which the single blooms appear....

"Gladiolus" (Iridaceae)
glads, Gladiolen

  1. Therse are beautiful. I took a picture of my hibiscus flowers the other day but they didn't turn out this nice.

  6. Hi talen, thank you for your kind words. Somehow I love these also very much. Many people think they are so common - but I don't and if you care to take a close look - the blooms are beautiful in their details.
And they look really elegant in a big vase...although I prefer living flowers in their natual habitat instead of the dead ones in the vase...

  9. Your photos look like they could have been painted by Georgia O'Keeffe. Gorgeous. Do you paint? They'd make wonderful watercolor models.
