GTS - Green Thumb Sunday

It's quite winterly here right now so I thought this icy beauty might be the appropriate image for today...

How to join:

The "Batik" Plant...

This is the most spectacular plant I have ever seen - at least regarding the leaves - and again I have no idea what it is. When backlit you will see what I mean: the leaves looked as if an artist has batiked them - simply amazing...
Does anyone know the name of this plant?

A Bush in Fire...

This bush really looked awesome but unfortunately I have no idea what it is? Can you help???

Through Mandi's help I think I found the right name for this: Laceleaf or Dissectum Japanese

Ginkgo - the living Fossil

Ginkgo leaves are incredibly decorative. I myself own a galvanized ginkgo leaf as a brooch. It looks very nice.
The tree is said to be a living fossil. No other plant is related to it and thus classified on its own. The internet has a lot of information to offer about this tree. Check it out if you like...

Ginkgo in the Colour of the Sun....

I really cannot say what I love more: the fire in the leaves of the maples in autum or the leaves of the ginkgo trees which is an incredible yellow - just as if the sun herself has been transformed into those leaves....

Vines in their Festival Costumes...

In autumn I always have the feeling that the vines are celebrating their own festival of colours...

The Oak Tree once more....

Oak trees in autumn costume - can be an intricate play with the light especially when backlit....
